Casablanca Expands Public Transit: New Tramway Lines to Ease Traffic Congestion

The new tramway lines in the city of Casablanca will soon be a reality. Casa Transports has just given the green light for the construction work of these lines, the commissioning of which will solve a real problem of traffic fluidity.
Intense traffic and circulation, accessibility constraints at certain times of the day or night due to the difficulties of the existing road traffic situation in the road corridor, the extent of the construction site area. These are all parameters that will have to be taken into account as part of this project.
The three geographical areas concerned by this project include the construction of two reinforced concrete beam overpasses with a width of 11.05 m and a crossing length of 23 meters. As for the construction of the third overpass, it is a metal type bow-string. In detail, the structures chosen for the crossing of the north and south ramps of the Ouled Ziane interchange are reinforced concrete beam structures.
To cross the A3 urban highway, a metal bridge (bow-string with a composite slab) will be built. Thus, for the completion of the two engineering structures (bank 1 and bank 2), the set deadline is 9 months, while for the completion of all the project work and the provision of the entire site to the company, the deadline is 14 months.
For this contract, the bids will be opened on March 26, 2020 in order to designate the service provider.
