Casablanca Airport: An Algerian wanted for drug trafficking arrested with capsules in his stomach

The security services of Mohammed-V Airport in Casablanca carried out a sting operation this Saturday, arresting an Algerian national involved in a drug case. The man, who was about to board a flight to Algiers, was caught by the control devices as he tried to conceal drugs in his body.

This traveler born in 1991 was not unknown to the police, as he was the subject of an arrest warrant issued on September 7 for "international drug trafficking", reports Barlamane, specifying that although the body search and inspection of his luggage proved negative, the DGSN agents decided to subject him to a body scanner. This thorough check was decisive, the imagery revealing the presence of "foreign bodies" in his stomach.

The suspect was kept within the airport facility under strict medical-police surveillance, a measure that will last until the "complete defecation of the swallowed capsules". It is only once this process is completed that the individual can be transferred to the prefectural judicial police service of Casablanca for the continuation of the procedure.
