Insulting videos towards Morocco: A Franco-Algerian blocked at the border
A 30-year-old Franco-Algerian national was prevented from leaving Morocco this Sunday, January 11, 2026. Under a travel ban (ISTN) issued by the Marrakech prosecutor’s office, he is the subject of a judicial investigation after the dissemination of videos deemed insulting towards Moroccans.
The interception took place at the Casablanca airport terminal as the individual was about to board a flight to Paris, reports Barlamane. During the DGSN checks, a restrictive measure of "prohibited exit from Morocco" appeared on his file. This administrative decision was taken by the Marrakech police prefecture, on the direct instructions of the King’s Prosecutor, following numerous reports concerning content published on social networks.
The individual is accused of making defamatory and threatening statements against Moroccan citizens in widely circulated video recordings. These publications have prompted a wave of complaints filed with the security services, leading to an identity check and the referral to the competent prosecutor’s office.
After being notified of his boarding ban, the individual was invited to regularize his situation. He left the airport area to return to Marrakech, where a judicial investigation is underway. The procedure, conducted under the control of the prosecutor’s office, will have to legally qualify the facts and determine the appropriate sanctions in accordance with Moroccan legislation.
