CAF Delays Decision on 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Host Country

The countries that have submitted their candidacy to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025 will have to wait longer to know the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The CAF president was supposed to announce on March 16 in Kigali the name of the country hosting the 2025 CAN. But according to Jeune Afrique, Patrice Motsepe has abandoned this idea, stating that there is no scheduled date for this announcement, especially since the competition is scheduled in two years.
CAF is taking its time also because the countries that are already favorites have the infrastructure capable of hosting such a competition and have already proven it. The pan-African magazine specifies that other factors have pushed CAF to postpone the announcement of the host country for CAN 2025. There is the unavailability of the report from the independent audit firm in charge of inspecting the different countries.
From this, announcing the name of the host country at the same time as when King Mohammed VI is to be decorated by CAF for his "contribution to African football" would give the impression of a set-up if the choice fell on Morocco.
