New Buses Arrive in Tétouan

Tétouan welcomes its new buses, adorned with patterns inspired by traditional zellige. This long-awaited deployment promises to modernize urban transportation in the region, with a fleet eventually totaling more than one hundred vehicles.

The first vehicles from an entirely renewed fleet have made their appearance on the streets of Tétouan. The design of these buses draws directly from local heritage, incorporating zellige patterns and doors from the medina. According to prefecture data, this initial delivery is part of a global program providing for the acquisition of 125 units. These arrivals will make it possible to expand the network and improve the services of the intercommunal cooperation establishment "Nord-Ouest."

The supply of this new transport fleet is taking place progressively. The system provides for the daily receipt of 13 buses from Casablanca, to constitute an initial batch of 67 vehicles. A second wave of 56 units will then arrive from Tangier. Alongside these deliveries, a vast training program is being rolled out. Drivers, technicians and inspectors are being prepared for the use of modern technological equipment on board.

This modernization project is supervised by the governor of Tétouan province, in close coordination with the authorities of M’diq-Fnideq and the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region. The official launch of the network will only take place once all vehicles have been received, administrative procedures finalized and training completed. In the meantime, local officials are calling on residents and visitors to show civic responsibility to preserve these new means of transportation.
