Morocco: a new 250 km highway to connect Al Hoceima to Tétouan
The Ministry of Equipment and Water is launching a strategic study to create a 250-kilometer highway between Al Hoceima and Tétouan. This large-scale project aims to transform mobility and the economy in northern Morocco.
The Ministry of Equipment and Water plans to soon launch a study for the construction of a highway connecting Al Hoceima to Tétouan. With an estimated distance of 250 kilometers, this project is shaping up to be one of the country’s future major projects. The study will have to define the optimal route, assess the economic profitability as well as the environmental impact, while estimating the necessary budget for a phased execution.

This new road link is strategic for the Mediterranean coast as it is intended to reduce travel times and boost tourism activity. By facilitating the opening up of the mountainous regions, this project aims to strengthen territorial integration.
