A highway to connect Béni Mellal to Fès and Meknès

The Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water launched on Friday a call for tenders for the realization of the studies of the highway project connecting Beni Mellal to Fès and Meknès. The future highway aims to accelerate the socio-economic and tourist development of the central-east of the kingdom.
"The study consists of the preparation of the preliminary design of the two lots (Béni Mellal to Khénifra and Khénifra to the Fès/Meknès bipole), the definition and preliminary design study of the engineering structures, the execution of the topographic work, as well as the study of the interchanges and nodes," details the special specifications accompanying the call for tenders. The contract takes into account all aspects of the project (technical, security, environmental, economic and financial). The execution of this project will cost 16.6 million dirhams, i.e. 8.1 million for the first lot and 8.5 million for the second lot.
The Béni Mellal-Fès/Meknès highway project is planned in the National Highway Network Scheme (SAAN) 2025, and is part of a global project to build a central axis Safi-Marrakech-Béni Mellal–Fès/Meknès –Tanger/Tétouan. The realization of this land use planning project will accelerate the socio-economic and tourist development of the Central-East of the kingdom. The provinces of the South-East will also benefit from this project thanks to the connection with the Errachidia region.
