Body of Missing Moroccan Man Found in Spanish Lake After Drowning Incident

The lifeless body of a young man of Moroccan origin, reported missing on Friday in La Alberca (Murcia), while swimming in the lake of the La Cierva dam in Mula, was found on Saturday.

Although he did not know how to swim well, the 21-year-old victim threw himself into the lake and did not come back up, causing concern among his companions who reported his disappearance, says Diego Jesús Boluda, municipal advisor for citizen security, to ORM.

Police and civil protection agents, firefighters and the helicopter of the Autonomous Community were deployed to search for the young man of Moroccan origin, whose lifeless body was finally found by the Civil Guard rescuers.

For the moment, the causes of death are unknown. The body was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for the purposes of the autopsy. Advisor Boluda expressed his condolences to the family and thanked the emergency services and security forces for their responsiveness.
