Beur FM Hosts Sanctioned After Meeting Israeli Ambassador for Morocco-Israel Show

Two hosts of the radio station Beur FM have just been sanctioned following a meeting with the Israeli ambassador to France. This was in the context of a show they were preparing on the normalization of relations between Israel and Morocco.
Rose Ameziane and Malik Yettou, hosts of the show "L’Actu autrement" on Beur FM, have just been sanctioned after this meeting. Although it was "enriching and instructive, an agreement heralding peace and prosperity" as Malik Yettou indicated on his tweet, Rose Ameziane, according to the magazine Marianne, received at the end of December an email from the director of the radio station launched in 1981 by the Franco-Algerian Nacer Kettane. "For your information to both of you, the show will not be conducted at the start of the new season and not before a good debrief of our editorial line," she wrote.
"This radio claims to be apolitical and secular, it claims to promote living together. Yet the neighborhoods are not monolithic, but we approach them with software, timidities and hatreds that date back to the 1980s. We cannot say at the same time that there are not enough representative people of diversity on the sets and ban the antenna to this same diversity on its own antenna. It is an ideological and human betrayal towards the listeners," said Rose Ameziane. "We understood that we were bothering. Because we refuse to practice the in-group. Why should we be united, based on our origins, by the same way of thinking?" questions the co-host of the show.
Moreover, the magazine indicated that the show on the normalization between Morocco and Israel did not take place. After several exchanges, the show "L’actu autrement" finally resumed on January 15 on the theme of incest. However, it was brought to the attention of the two hosts that their show will now be broadcast on Saturday mornings, at a low audience time, instead of Friday, 5 p.m. as usual. However, the director of Beur FM, Djima Kettane, contacted by Marianne, denied any sanction.
