Morocco’s PJD Party Remains Opposed to Israel Normalization, Minister Says

The Party of Justice and Development (PJD) still does not digest the normalization of diplomatic relations between Morocco and the Hebrew State. Aziz Rabbah, Minister of Energy and Mines, also a leader of the PJD, stated that he would go to Israel as a representative of the kingdom, as his position and that of the party on the subject have not changed.
"As an individual, I have nothing to do in Israel, but I could go there in the supreme interest of my country, if it has positive repercussions for Morocco (...) I represent the Moroccan state and when it is necessary, I will fulfill my duty and assume my responsibilities," he said during his appearance on the "Confidences de presse" program on 2M.
Mr. Rabbah indicated that his position and that of the PJD on the restoration of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel have not changed, "but when you hold a management position, you have to assume your responsibilities and follow the orientations of the State".
"Today, we have a great cause and the Moroccans have understood it better than several commentators. The Sahara issue has cost us as it has cost the region and the world," affirmed the minister, adding that what happened with Israel is a matter of international relations where the last word goes to the king, who is the head of state.
