Moroccan Delegation to Visit Israel, Boosting Diplomatic Ties and Economic Cooperation

A high-level Moroccan delegation is expected in Israel in late February, Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said Friday during his telephone conversation with Israel’s National Security Advisor, Meir Ben Shabbat. The discussions focused on issues of common interest.
During this conversation, which comes after the telephone call between King Mohammed VI and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the two ministers decided to set up working groups. They will have to conclude cooperation agreements in several areas, including investments, agriculture, water, environment, tourism, science, innovation and energy.
According to the Moroccan Foreign Minister, these working groups will meet online to work together due to the health crisis caused by the coronavirus. While the Moroccan delegation is expected in Israel in February to conclude agreements, the Israeli delegation, led by Ben Shabbat, is also expected in Morocco during the same month.
These telephone exchanges between the two officials come more than a month after the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries, with the support of the Trump administration.
