Belgian Woman Murdered by Ex-Husband After Divorce, Police Say

They separated after 11 years of a marriage that had known violence and conflicts. But this truce was apparently not enough to free the vengeful soul of the husband, who did not take long to commit a conjugal homicide.
Ridoan O., a 39-year-old Belgian of Moroccan origin, killed his ex-wife, inflicting fatal knife wounds on her, on Monday, November 4, in Wevelgem, in Belgium.
The couple separated during the summer of 2019. Unable to accept the breakup, the husband continued to harass the victim at her parents’ home, repeatedly threatening to kill her.
Found dead at her parents’ home, Jill Himpe, a 36-year-old Belgian, would have been murdered in a parking lot before the body was moved to her mother’s home. It was a neighbor who alerted the police after discovering the door of the house open and blood stains.
After his act, the alleged murderer called the victim’s parents to apologize. "Sorry. Why? You’ll see," he had told them.
