Belgian Man Confesses to Ex-Wife’s Murder in Brutal Throat-Slitting Case
Ridouan O., 39, suspected of having slit the throat of his ex-partner, Jill Himpe, 36, on Tuesday, November 5, appeared yesterday, Friday, October 8, before the Chamber of the Council. Angry, his sister-in-law insulted the suspect during the reconstruction of the murder.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, the reconstruction of Jill Himpe’s murder took place on Thursday from 2 to 3 pm in Aalbeke, in the Kortrijk region, in the presence of some members of the victim’s family.
The murder actually took place along the Mouscron road in Aalbeke on Tuesday morning, the investigators report. Then, in the evening, Ridouan O. went to Rue du Rossignol in Wevelgem to drop off the lifeless body of Jill Himpe at his own mother’s home.
Finally, he got into the vehicle of his victim and ex-partner to go to his long-time lawyer in the Ghent region. Following his advice, the alleged murderer called the police to surrender. He was then arrested in a carpool parking lot on the E17 between Kortrijk and Waregem, and then confessed during his interrogation.
According to the findings of the police, the victim’s car was broken, is full of DNA traces and blood traces of Jill Himpe inside and outside. Based on this, the car still has to undergo many legal analyses, it is specified.
The alleged murderer terrorized his ex-partner who had decided to take refuge with her parents. But Ridouan O. found Jill Himpe, and slit her throat, according to his own words.
