Brussels: Woman Arrested for Pushing Veiled Senior onto Tram Tracks

An arrest warrant has been issued against a 51-year-old woman arrested on November 5. She had pushed a 68-year-old veiled woman onto the tram tracks at the De Brouckère station.
In a statement, the Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office said "an arrest warrant has been issued by an investigating judge against the suspect".
It was also recalled that the accused "had already been convicted by the courts in 2018 for acts of assault and battery".
It was 1:30 pm when a brief altercation broke out last Tuesday between a homeless person and a veiled woman at the De Brouckère tram and metro station in Brussels, according to the local press.
The homeless woman, aged 51, had tried to kill the 68-year-old Muslim woman by pushing her onto the tram tracks. Fortunately, the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. No injuries were reported. The victim emerged unharmed from this attempted homicide.
