Belgian Court Orders Repatriation of ISIS Member and Child from Syrian Camp

Belgium is called upon to repatriate one of its jihadist nationals and her child from the Syrian Al Hol camp under penalty of a daily fine. This is the decision of the Brussels interim judge.

After an initial repatriation decision, the Brussels interim judge has just taken another one within a month, reports the newspaper De Morgen. In this sense, Belgium has 75 days to repatriate a woman and her child from the Al-Hol prisoner camp in Syria, the French-speaking Brussels court specifies.

It will be a question for this country to carry out the necessary steps, in particular to issue travel documents during this period. Failing that, the Belgian state will be ordered to pay a fine of 2,000 euros per day.

Since March, L., 28, has been residing in the Al Hol camp. She will experience two unfortunate events: the death of two of her children, twins. Her three-year-old child, on the other hand, suffers from malnutrition, and there is a risk of dehydration due to diarrhea, according to the lawyer. This conclusion follows the mission of psychologists and doctors from the VUB conducted under the direction of Gerrit Loots. According to the magistrate, L. has already been convicted by default for having joined a terrorist organization.

A month ago, the same judge had ordered the repatriation of Hafsa Sliti and her two children.
