Belgian Teen Sarah Chaari Clinches Gold at Taekwondo Grand Prix in Manchester

The Belgian-Moroccan Sarah Chaari won the gold medal in the -67 kg category at the Grand Prix in Manchester, thus making history for Belgium in a competition of this level.
At 18 years old, Sarah Chaari defeated the Chinese Mengyu Zhang in the final with impressive scores of 6-4 and 16-4 in two rounds.
Sarah Chaari is no stranger to success. This young Carolo already has an impressive record with a title at the European Games this year in the -62 kg category and a world champion title last year in Guadalajara, Mexico. With this victory in Manchester, she adds a fourth medal to her Grand Prix career, having already won two silver medals and one bronze previously.
This performance places Sarah Chaari in a good position for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, indicates Belga. Currently third in the Olympic ranking and tenth in the world, she meets the qualification criteria for the Olympics.
