Belgian National Arrested at Tanger-Med Port with Nearly 16 kg of Cocaine

The elements of the national security of the port of Tanger Med thwarted, on Saturday, August 1, an attempt to traffic drugs. A 35-year-old Belgian was arrested.
During the border control operation carried out on the car, immediately after its arrival at the port during an exceptional maritime journey from France, 15 kg and 884 grams of cocaine were found inside the rear bumper, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
A 35-year-old Belgian of Moroccan origin driving this car with foreign registration plates was arrested, the same source said.
Pending the determination of all potential ramifications and persons suspected of involvement in the commission of this criminal activity, the suspect was taken into custody.
