French National Among Four Arrested in Morocco Cocaine Trafficking Bust

Based on information provided by the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), elements of the prefectural judicial police service of Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier proceeded to the arrest of four individuals including a French national of Moroccan origin, a woman and two repeat offenders. They are suspected of having links with a criminal network active in the possession and trafficking of cocaine.
Three of these suspects were arrested in Marrakech on board three rental cars, just after the delivery of a bag containing five kilograms of cocaine to the fourth suspect who managed to flee after abandoning the drug cargo, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a statement. Thanks to coordination on the ground, the latter was arrested on board his car after arriving in "Tamesna" (outskirts of Rabat), in possession of an additional kilogram of cocaine.
The judicial police elements of Tangier subsequently proceeded to seize another car and a sum of 100,000 dirhams. In total, five cars, six kilograms of cocaine, a large sum of money and several mobile phones were seized as part of this case.
Pending the elucidation of this case and the arrest of any other perpetrators involved, the accused have been taken into custody.
