Bed Bug Scare: French Ferry Quarantined at Moroccan Port Tanger Med

The authorities of Tanger Med immediately activated the alert system following the detection of a possible presence of bed bugs on a ferry from Marseille.
The surveillance put in place confirmed this presence, leading to the application of a strict protocol: disinfection and thorough cleaning of the ship and its cargo before welcoming passengers, sources tell Hespress.
This intervention is part of the port’s continuous monitoring policy, aimed at preventing the spread of this invasive insect, we are told. It should be noted that France is currently affected by a major bed bug epidemic, mainly affecting public transport and places in large cities.
Faced with the growing threat of these parasites, the French government plans a meeting this week. The objective? To put in place an "action plan" to deal with the alarming proliferation of bed bugs, observed in places as varied as cinemas, TGVs, the Paris metro or even the Roissy airport.
