Morocco Ramps Up Border Health Checks Amid France’s Bed Bug Scare

Following the announcement of the spread of bed bugs in France, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection has activated the health surveillance and monitoring system at the borders.
In this context, indicates a press release from the Ministry of Health, a detailed inspection was carried out on a ship arriving from the port of Marseille on October 2. Although the ship’s captain reported a suspicion of bugs in the crew’s cabin, the inspection confirmed the total absence of insects on board.
The ministry emphasizes the implementation of surveillance at all entry points, whether maritime, air or land, in accordance with national procedures and international standards, in particular the 2005 International Health Regulations.
And to recommend to the population to report any observation of this insect to the competent authorities.
