Bayern-Bound Mazraoui Describes ’Brotherly’ Bond with Morocco Teammate Ziyech

While some have accused him of distancing himself from Hakim Ziyech by accepting Vahid Halilhodzic’s outstretched hand, Noussair Mazraoui has decided to revisit the relationship he has maintained for many years with his former teammate at Ajax Amsterdam.
On his way to Bayern Munich, the Moroccan right-back, in a statement given to Voetbal International, discussed the relationship he has with Hakim Ziyech and Zakaria Labyad, the Moroccan players he has rubbed shoulders with at Ajax Amsterdam. He describes their relationship as "brotherly" and uses the term "buddies" to describe them.
"We got along very well. Of course, we have the same Moroccan roots, but there is much more. We feel comfortable with each other, there is a very strong bond of trust. It’s a kind of brotherhood," he confides, emphasizing the decisive role of Hakim Ziyech in his early days. "He helped me a lot in the beginning when I was younger."
Speaking of Zakaria Labyad, he also describes a player he has always been able to count on. "He certainly also played a major role in my development at Ajax. We can always rely on each other."
