Barcelona’s Rising Star Ezzalzouli May Miss Crucial Games for Africa Cup of Nations

FC Barcelona could suffer from the absence of Abdessamad Ezzalzouli if he is called up by Morocco to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations which will take place from January 9 to February 6, 2022.
The Spanish club could have a difficult start to the year if its new prodigy, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, who has been doing wonders since his arrival and has gained the trust of coach Xavi Hernandez, left for the 2022 CAN under the Moroccan colors.
The competition will last a month, from January 9 to February 6, 2022. During this period, FC Barcelona will have to do without Abdessamad Ezzalzouli if he is called up. According to the CAN program, Morocco will play their last group match on January 18 against Gabon, after facing the Comoros and Ghana.

As a big favorite for this CAN, Morocco should, barring surprise, qualify for the round of 16 which will be held between January 23 and 26. In the event of qualification for the quarter-finals, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli should remain with the Atlas Lions until January 30. And if Morocco managed to secure their ticket for the semi-finals, the young star of Barça would remain with the Moroccan national team until February 6 for the final or the third place match.
If the call-up of Abdessamad Ezzalzouli is confirmed, he will not be able to participate in the Spanish Super Cup which will take place in January in Saudi Arabia. He would also miss several league matches, to the detriment of FC Barcelona which cannot prevent the player from responding to the call of his national team.
