Barcelona Releases Ezzalzouli for Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations Campaign

Abdessamad Ezzalzouli will finally answer the call of the Moroccan national team to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations starting on January 9 in Cameroon. But before joining the Atlas Lions, the Moroccan winger of FC Barcelona will play one last match on January 2 against Mallorca in La Liga.
FC Barcelona has finally authorized Abdessamad Ezzalzouli to join the Atlas Lions who will be in Cameroon to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations. The young talent of the Catalan club will probably join the team of Vahid Halilhodzic on January 3, after a last match with the club against Mallorca on January 2.

FIFA announced on Sunday that international players called up by their national teams for the CAN could stay and play for their clubs until January 3. Thus, Abde Ezzalzouli will be able to play for the first time in the national colors and participate in his first CAN with the Atlas Lions. A good opportunity all the same for the native of Beni Mellal.

For its part, the Spanish press continues to put pressure on the young player. Mundo Deportivo indicated on Monday that Ezzalzouli would risk permanently losing his starting place at FC Barcelona if he joined the Moroccan national team to participate in the CAN.
