Barcelona’s Ezzalzouli Commits to Morocco National Team for March

After having maintained confusion over his belonging or not to the Moroccan football team, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli promises to join the Atlas Lions by March. The FC Barcelona striker has notified this to Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
Summoned to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place from January 9 to February 6, 2022 in Cameroon, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli would have categorically refused, expressing his wish not to evolve with the Atlas Lions. He would have gone so far as to remove from social networks everything that could link him to the Moroccan selection.
Approached by the president of the FRMF, the young striker would have confided that he could only join the Atlas Lions in March, reports the daily Al Akhbar, which stresses that the boss of the FRMF told him that the national team had to take precedence over any other consideration.
As for the threats for which the native of Béni Mellal refused to participate in CAN 2021, Fouzi Lekjaa indicated on Radio Mars that he had contacted the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, and coach Xavi Hernandez, to have more elements on the question. They would have stated that they did not influence the decision made by the player.
