Asian Human Trafficking Ring Busted in Tangier Port Operation

The Tangier police services succeeded in dismantling a criminal network consisting of 3 Malaysians and 1 Sri Lankan, for their alleged involvement in human trafficking and document forgery.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), a Malaysian woman was arrested at the Tanger-Med port as she was trying to smuggle 3 Sri Lankan nationals to Spain using fake Malaysian passports.
The investigation revealed that the network was well organized. The other members were in charge of receiving, housing and emigrating Asian candidates with forged passports.
The 4 suspects were taken into custody and made available to the investigation conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to determine any possible ramifications of the network.
