Moroccan Police Bust Human Trafficking Ring, Arrest 6 Suspects in Southern Cities

As part of the National Strategy to Combat Illegal Immigration, the police services of Tan Tan and Laâyoune proceeded to arrest 6 individuals, aged 33 to 39.
Following information from the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the 6 individuals are being prosecuted for setting up a criminal network involved in human trafficking and illegal immigration.
Acting as an organized network, 5 of the members were apprehended in two houses in Tan Tan in the company of 4 Moroccan candidates for illegal immigration, while the sixth was intercepted at the entrance to the city of Laayoune.
The accused were taken into custody, at the disposal of the investigation conducted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in order to determine the circumstances of this case, as well as the possible ramifications of the network.
