Armored Car Heist in Tangier: Three Suspects Arrested, $160,000 Recovered

The Tangier police apprehended three individuals, one of whom is suspected of being involved in the robbery of an armored car in Tangier and the theft of large sums of money.
Their arrest took place during two simultaneous operations that took place in the Mghougha region and in the commune of Bni Gorfet in Larache, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Aged between 28 and 32, these individuals would be directly involved in the theft, on November 22 in Tangier, of an amount of 1.6 million dirhams from an armored car courier.
The searches and investigations led to the arrest of an accomplice, the twin brother of one of the suspects, who would have hidden part of the loot.
The police also seized large sums of money that would be from the robbery, in addition to bladed weapons of different calibers as well as large bags of cannabis stems and a car that would have been used during the robbery, the statement continues.
The accused were placed in custody and an investigation was opened, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the circumstances of this case, concludes the DGSN.
