Armed Robbers Steal $160,000 from Armored Van in Tangier Bank Heist

An armored van of a cash-in-transit company was attacked on Monday by two hooded individuals armed with bladed weapons in Tangier.
The two criminals robbed the van that was going to collect funds from a bank branch located in the Syrian district of Tangier, and stole 1.6 million dirhams, threatening the security guards and customers with bladed weapons, reports the website tanja24.

Elements of the police from the Tangier police prefecture rushed to the scene. An investigation has been opened, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to determine the circumstances of the robbery. Investigators will view recordings from cameras installed inside and around the bank branch in order to have clues to arrest the two individuals.
