Armed Suspect with Sabre Shot by Police in Tangier After Threatening Citizens

A repeat offender aged 33 was arrested on Thursday morning in Tangier by a police officer who, to get there, had to use his service weapon. The suspect, who was in a state of drunkenness and armed with a sabre, was endangering the lives of citizens and the police who came to arrest him.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said that the police received complaints reporting a drunken man threatening citizens in the "Mesnana" neighborhood with a sabre. A patrol therefore intervened to remove the danger, but the latter resisted. This is how a police officer fired a bullet that hit the suspect in the thigh, thus neutralizing the danger and seizing the bladed weapon.
Placed under medical control at the hospital where he was transferred to receive the necessary care, he will be subject to a judicial investigation that will determine all the details of this case, the DGSN said.
