Knife-Wielding Suspect Shot by Police in Meknès After Robbery and Violent Resistance

A police officer sent to a neighborhood in Meknès to arrest a repeat offender of 40 years old was forced to draw his weapon. Impulsive and drunk, the suspect was a threat to citizens and the patrol that came on a mission.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said that the accused was not only intoxicated, but had also just robbed a citizen of his money under the threat of a bladed weapon. This is how a patrol came to arrest him to prevent him from disturbing the peace of citizens, and above all to prevent him from seriously attempting the lives of citizens.
But, armed with a knife and a cutting tool, he fiercely resisted the police elements, forcing the sergeant to shoot him in the thigh. This allowed him to be overpowered and the bladed weapons in his possession to be seized.
The suspect was placed under medical control at the hospital to receive the necessary care. He will be subjected to a judicial investigation to elucidate the ins and outs of this case, the DGSN said.
