Aptiv to Open $39 Million Automotive Wiring Plant in Morocco, Creating 3,000 Jobs

The industrial acceleration zone of the Oujda Technopole will soon host an automotive wiring plant. The construction work on this industrial unit was launched on Monday.
This is a new plant of the Aptiv group that will cover an area of 8 hectares in the industrial acceleration zone of the Oujda Technopole, for a total investment of nearly 394 million dirhams (MDH).
The project, which should create more than 3,000 direct jobs, is the result of a partnership between the Wilaya of the Oriental, the CRO, the CRI, the company MedZ and Aptiv.
According to the Regional Investment Center (CRI), this future "mega-plant", which testifies to the great confidence of economic operators in the potential of the Oriental region, is likely to give new impetus to the development of the regional industrial sector, and will strengthen the attractiveness of the region at the national and international level.
On this occasion, Abdenbi Bioui, President of the Council of the Oriental Region (CRO), indicated that the partnership between the regional council and the APTIV company for the installation of this plant in Oujda is the result of a relentless work carried out by the regional council, whether in its former or current composition, adding that the industrial unit will help fight unemployment in this border area with Algeria.
