Aptiv Invests $39 Million in New Moroccan Auto Parts Factory, Creating 3,500 Jobs

Aptiv, the multinational specialized in the design and manufacture of automotive equipment, will invest 394 million dirhams (MDH) to build a automotive cable factory in the city of Oujda.
This project will be carried out in the industrial acceleration free zone of the Oujda Technopole on an area of 8 hectares and will create 3,500 direct jobs, for an investment of 394 million dirhams (MDH).
During the signing of the agreement between the Wilaya of the Oriental, the Regional Council of the Oriental (CRO), the Regional Investment Center (CRI) of the Oriental, the company MedZ and Aptiv, the officials indicated that this future "mega-factory" of automotive cables is a testament to the great confidence of economic operators in the future and the potential of the Oriental region.
For the governor of the prefecture of Oujda-Angad, Mouad El Jamai "this project is likely to encourage other national and international investors to settle in the region, particularly in this high value-added sector" he noted, also emphasizing the expected effect of the future Nador West Med port, which will improve the attractiveness of the Oriental, attract more investments and help fight unemployment.
The start of work is scheduled for January 2022, for commissioning in June of the same year.
