Morocco Showcases Agricultural Investment Opportunities at Dubai Expo 2020

At Expo Dubai 2020, Morocco presented its potential and investment opportunities in the agricultural sector. The objective is to encourage economic operators to opt for green investment projects.
On this occasion, a conference was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture during which the Moroccan delegation reviewed the achievements of the Green Morocco Plan and the axes of the "Generation Green 2020-2030" strategy.
In this sense, the participants were given a presentation by Redouane Arrach, Director of Strategy and Statistics at the Ministry of Agriculture, on Morocco’s ambitions to achieve a sustainable food system. "The new development strategy for the agricultural sector in Morocco has been based on consolidating the achievements and accomplishments within the framework of the Green Morocco Plan, as well as on the new aspirations dictated by the changes in the national and international economy," said Arrach.
He added that "Green Generation 2020-2030" aims to help young people invest in one million hectares of arable land, create about 350,000 jobs and increase agricultural exports to 60 billion dirhams, or $6.6 billion, by 2030.
For his part, the Director General of the Agricultural Development Agency (ADA), El Mahdi Arrifi, recalled the Agency’s missions for agricultural development, which aims to provide investors with information on investment opportunities and the business climate in the agricultural sector in Morocco and to advise them on the choices of their investment projects.
"The public-private partnership aims to attract national and foreign investments in the agricultural field, to make better use of the available agricultural land stock, to create high added value, to contribute to the development of the sector’s basic production chains and to create job offers," he stressed.
