Angers Star Soufiane Boufal Suffers Serious Hamstring Injury in Ligue 1 Match

Moroccan international Soufiane Boufal was seriously injured on Sunday during the Angers/Lorient match in Ligue 1. This bad news worries the technical staff who estimate they have "lost an important player".
This injury is the result of a bad fall by the player. "We don’t have a diagnosis yet. But it looks like a serious injury to the hamstring: a clacage or a tear, it’s the bad news of the evening," said Stéphane Moulin, Angers coach.
According to him, this injury is justified by the player’s lack of match preparation and rhythm, as he arrived very late in the squad. "It’s logical. He’s coming back from afar. He arrived very late. We tried to use him as best we could. But today he is paying the price for his lack of preparation, matches, rhythm. We lose an important player," added the Angers coach.
The Atlas Lion was transferred to Angers during the last transfer window. Thanks to his good performances, he quickly established himself in the squad before being stopped in his tracks.
