Amazon’s $300 Million Spy Series ’Citadel’ Debuts, Featuring Moroccan Locations

Part of the spy TV series Citadel, the second most expensive production of Prime Video (Amazon) after The Lord of the Rings, was filmed in Morocco.
Cinema lovers are already savoring the first two episodes of the TV series Citadel released on Prime Video on Friday, April 28 in the United States. Produced by AGBO, the production company of the Russo brothers known for their work on the Avengers, this spy TV series follows two elite spies, Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh, who work for Citadel, a secret and independent spy agency. After the fall of the agency, the two spies will have to reconstruct their past, a series of operations having led to the erasure of their memories.

The Citadel series was filmed over a long period in different locations, including Atlanta, London, Miami, Morocco and Spain. Its budget amounts to 185 million dollars, which makes it the second most expensive production of Prime Video behind The Lord of the Rings.
