Global Spy Thriller ’Citadel’ Set to Premiere on Prime Video, Partly Filmed in Morocco

The action and espionage series Citadel by brothers Joe and Anthony Russo was partly shot in Morocco. Its first episodes will soon be available on the Prime Video platform.
The two episodes of the thriller Citadel will be available on April 28 on Prime Video. A weekly release of one episode per week is also planned. Citadel, which was shot in Morocco, Atlanta, London and Valencia, already has several spin-offs around the world. Its budget is estimated at $240 million, making it the second most expensive series of all time, behind "The Lord of the Rings" whose first season would have cost $465 million.
Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden and acclaimed Indian actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas play the main characters in the series: two high-level spies serving Citadel, an espionage organization that has sworn allegiance to no country.
"Anthony and I have reached a stage in our careers where the ambition of a project is a decisive quality," Joe Russo told Vanity Fair. "We are looking for new ways to tell stories."
