Since February 3, lovers of the 7th art have had the opportunity to watch "Black Hearts", a French series largely filmed in Morocco. Divided into six episodes of about 50 minutes, this French mini-series "follows the daily life of a Special Forces commando in Iraq." "The French Special Forces are deployed in Iraq, on the eve of the battle of Mosul, in October 2016. The members of this commando have the mission of finding and exfiltrating the daughter and grandson of an important French Emir of Daesh whom they have captured and who will only cooperate with them on this condition," summarizes the synopsis.
A few days after its release, this series is a hit on Amazon Prime Video to the point of beating The Last of Us, the American series adapted from the post-apocalyptic video game of the same name. Ziad Doueiri, known for the success of Baron Noir, one of the best political series created to date, is the director. Corinne Garfin and Duong Dang-Thaï are the screenwriters. France Télévisions will give cinephiles a general public broadcast of "Black Hearts" at the end of the year.
