Airport Bust: Young Moroccans Caught Smuggling 30kg of Cannabis to France

The police at Marrakech-Ménara airport managed to thwart an attempt to traffic chira (cannabis resin) and arrested young Moroccans residing abroad who were about to leave Moroccan territory.
The usual passenger screening operation at departure allowed the seizure of a significant quantity of chira, estimated at 30 kilograms of drugs, carefully hidden inside the suitcases of young Moroccans residing in France. They were arrested as they were about to travel outside of Morocco from Marrakech-Ménara airport. After their arrest, they were handed over to the airport police station. An official report on the incident was written. The two suspects were then transferred to the judicial police for further investigation.
Pending the conclusions of a preliminary investigation to determine the sources of the drugs and the methods of their transportation, as well as to verify their possible involvement in previous trafficking operations, the two young Moroccans residing abroad were placed in custody.
