Airfare to Morocco Drops as Global Flight Prices Soar

While airfare prices from French airports to North Africa, particularly Morocco, continue to fall, those to other destinations are rising.
In a press release, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) indicated that since the beginning of 2023, the price of airline tickets departing from airports has increased by 23.6% compared to March 2022 and that in March 2023, the increase is 23.8% for all destinations combined, still compared to March 2022. Internationally, no change: year-on-year, ticket prices increased by 22.8% between March 2022 and March 2023. As for the medium-haul international network, the increase is higher than for long-haul. According to the DGAC, this increase is mainly driven by the European Economic Area/Switzerland/United Kingdom axis (+38.4%).
On the other hand, like the previous two months, North Africa is down (-6.5%). This decline is "notably driven by developments to Algeria (the year 2023 marks a return to a more normalized situation after periods of significant travel restrictions) and Lebanon," explains the DGAC.
