Air Travel Costs Plummet: France-Morocco Ticket Prices See Significant Drop

According to the Passenger Air Transport Price Index (IPTAP) of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC), air ticket prices between France and Morocco continued to fall in July.
This is a first since 2022, with air ticket prices for all destinations combined decreasing on the domestic network (-1.5%). Prices are also down by -5.5% from the metropolis. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC), the largest drop "is observed from the overseas departments (-7.4%)". In addition, "for the cumulative 7 months of the year 2024, the price trend, for all destinations combined, is neutral (0%)."
From the metropolis, the decline is observed on all networks (-5.5%). However, it remains more pronounced on the international network, with ticket prices having decreased by -6.2%, which is the largest decrease observed since the beginning of the year. This drop is more sustained on the medium-haul international network (-6.9%) than for the long-haul international network (-6.2%), explains the DGAC. The price decrease is also observed across the entire medium-haul international network. This price drop "is more pronounced towards the European Economic Area (-10.3%) and, to a lesser extent, towards North Africa-Levant (-1.6%) and towards other European countries (-1.0%)" is mainly driven by low-cost carriers, it is specified.
On the long-haul international network, ticket prices are decreasing (-6.2%), with a significant drop of -12.3% towards Asia-Pacific. The largest drop is observed towards the Middle East (-8.4%), Africa (-7.0%) and towards Latin America (-5.2%). Across the entire long-haul network, this decrease is driven by the economy class, the DGAC also specifies.
