An Air France flight from Marrakech to Paris diverted after an emergency on board

Flight AF1054, which was carrying more than 150 people from Marrakech International Airport, was proceeding normally until it flew over the center of the Iberian peninsula. The crew was then alerted to the sudden deterioration of a passenger’s health condition. Faced with the seriousness of the case, the pilots immediately contacted air traffic control to obtain authorization for a priority landing at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport.

The rapid coordination between the flight crew and the controllers allowed the aircraft to land without incident. As soon as the plane stopped, specialized medical teams, positioned at the edge of the runway, intervened on board to take care of the sick passenger. The latter was evacuated to the airport’s medical facilities and then transferred to a nearby hospital. While the identity of the passenger remains confidential, airport sources have confirmed the serious nature of the emergency.

The remaining passengers remained on board during the intervention before being informed of the situation by the crew, who maintained calm in the cabin.

In a statement, Air France highlighted the professionalism of its staff and the collaboration of the Spanish authorities, recalling that health and safety are the "absolute priority".
