Nightmare at 30,000 Feet: EasyJet Flight Diverted, Passengers Forced to Sleep on Airport Floor

The Agadir-Geneva flight was proceeding normally for the 186 passengers. Suddenly, a medical emergency on board forces the plane to make an emergency landing. The crew announces a night at the hotel to wait, but what awaited them in the terminal was far from the promised...

Everything turned upside down mid-flight. On board the Airbus A320 of the Easyjet airline, a 12-year-old teenager suddenly suffered a medical emergency. Faced with the medical emergency, the pilot had no choice but to divert to the nearest airport. The aircraft landed on the Toulouse tarmac around 11 pm. The young boy was immediately taken care of and taken to the Purpan hospital to receive the necessary care.

For the other travelers, the ordeal is far from over. The captain takes the floor to announce the rest of the program: the Geneva airport no longer accepting landings after midnight, a hotel night will be organized for everyone in Toulouse before a departure the next day.

However, there will be no comfortable rooms. Once disembarked in the terminal, the passengers discover with stupor the accommodation reserved for them: a series of camp beds lined up in Hall A. Left to their own devices, without any company personnel to guide or assist them, they will only be entitled to a few bottles of water to wait.

The night then turned into an endless vigil. According to the testimony of a passenger, the atmosphere was grueling, amidst the cries of tired children, one of whom, sick, vomited all night. Not far away, a disabled lady had to try to find sleep on her own wheelchair. A situation that forced almost all the passengers to an all-nighter.

It took a lot of patience. The low-cost airline’s plane was finally able to take off again towards Geneva the next day, Wednesday, August 27, around 1 pm.
