Agadir Tourism Booms: Moroccan and French Visitors Lead Record Growth

Among the visitors of different nationalities who have chosen the city of Agadir, Moroccan tourists are found. They are in first place with 166,560 summer visitors.
During the first six months of 2019, the number of domestic tourists arriving in the classified hotel establishments of Agadir increased by 19.66%. In 2018, there were 139,189. This is according to figures from the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Agadir Souss-Massa.
Just behind the Moroccans, we find the French tourists with 103,111 arrivals against 87,340 during the first half of 2018, an increase of 18.06%. German tourists take 3rd place with 63,350 arrivals against 59,857 last year, an increase of 5.84%. As for tourists from the United Kingdom, they experienced a 23.65% increase, from 49,400 to 61,085.
The classified tourist establishments in Agadir also recorded 523,686 arrivals of different nationalities during the first half of 2019, compared to 486,651 for the same period in 2018, an increase of 7.61%.
In terms of ranking by type of tourist accommodation, 4-star hotels come in first place with a total of 153,087 tourists of different nationalities, followed by tourist villages which welcomed 113,118 tourists, while 5-star hotels come in third place with a total of 101,448 tourists.
