Agadir’s $77 Million Northeast Bypass Road Secures Full Funding for 29km Project

An envelope of 770 million DH has been mobilized for the realization of the Agadir bypass road. This project is part of the Urban Development Program of the city of Agadir (2020-2024), launched by King Mohammed VI in February.
With a length of 29 km, the construction of this ring road is ensured by several partners including the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water (32.5%/250MDH), the Souss Massa Region (26%/200MDH), the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Green Economy and Digital (16.9%/130), the Ministry of the Interior (11.7%/90MDH) and the Municipality of Agadir (12.9%/100MDH).
This project aims to improve road safety. It will also make it possible to control the circulation of suburban exchanges on a suitable route while reducing the nuisances caused by transit traffic, by giving it the possibility of avoiding the crossing of urban areas.
It will also reduce travel time to major infrastructure in Greater Agadir between Al Massira airport, the port of Agadir, the Agadir Grand Stadium, the logistics areas of Agadir and Ait Melloul, the Haliopolis parks, the Agropole of the future free zone, and the university complex of the city. With its realization, the project could facilitate much smoother and safer traffic for the inhabitants.
