Agadir to Launch High-Capacity Bus Line with Smart Technology

The first high-level service bus line in Agadir is in the final phase of its implementation. The steering committee has confirmed the analyzes, and the works contract will take place next December.

18 meters long, and with a capacity of 145 and 160 people, the buses will take into account the requirements of people with reduced mobility, the visually impaired and others, with the particularity of using technology, through the installation of a digital system in 38 intersections and access to information through passenger terminals. In addition, an application will be made available online for customers, according to their place of residence and itinerary.

The path to this gem involves a census of all wet and dry networks. It was carried out in order to facilitate the release of the rights-of-way and the execution of the works and the successful bidder for the contract for the restoration of the water and discharge pipes of the Régie autonome multi-services d’Agadir (RAMSA) will be known this week, reports Les Eco.

The work to build the drinking water and discharge pipelines, the contract for the restoration of which is estimated at 3.2 MDH, with a total of 20 pipes to be restored, will last five months. Several donors, including the Urban Transport Reform Support Fund (FART) and the French Development Agency (AFD), have contributed to the project according to international standards, and the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) is also supporting the project in terms of project management.

Regarding the environmental impact study, it was carried out by AREMO Ingénierie. But for the moment, no decision has been made regarding the operation of the line after its realization by the Spanish company Alsa, which has been in charge of public transport since 2010 until 2024.
