Morocco Modernizes Driver's License and Vehicle Registration System to Enhance Road Safety

In Morocco, the National Road Safety Agency (NARSA) has undertaken a project to design, develop and implement a system for managing driving licenses and vehicle registration certificates, in order to ensure rigorous monitoring of traffic code violations.

The agency intends to modernize the management mechanisms for driving licenses and vehicle registration certificates. The execution of this project will involve carrying out an external study. This study will trace the entire process from design to implementation, through development, reports Les Inspirations Eco. With the realization of this project, the control body will have instant access to the encoded data and will promote the immediate recording of new offenses. It will also be a question of updating the vehicle fleet in circulation and the file of drivers by renewing all the documents issued according to a defined periodicity and modalities.

This project will also contribute to the improvement of service provision, by aligning with international standards in the issuance of reliable and secure identification documents. It will be a question of taking into account criteria such as speed and synergy between the operators of the sector to modernize and upgrade their activities. In order to manage these processes, in particular the "Driving License and Vehicle Registration Certificate Management System" and the "Driving License Examination Management System", NARSA has developed several computer applications. It wants to work on the improvement of these applications through new services.

The agency also plans to update the technical environments of these applications so that they can benefit from the contributions of the new possibilities offered and accommodate the new generation of electronic driving licenses and vehicle registration certificates. In this sense, a Driving License and Vehicle Registration Certificate Management Service (SGPCCG) will be created within a year.

To carry out this project, a steering committee will be set up within NARSA. Its work will consist of validating the different phases of the project after the opinion of the monitoring committee, which will also be set up.
