Ziyech Blasts Chelsea After Galatasaray Move, Reflects on Premier League Struggles

In an interview, Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, who is delighted with his new club Galatasaray, looks back on his misadventure at Chelsea.
A statement full of bitterness from Hakim Ziyech! Arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2020 as part of a 35 million euro contract, Hakim has failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge. He scored 14 goals and provided 13 assists in 107 games across all competitions. In January, his transfer to PSG collapsed at the last minute due to the delay caused by Chelsea in transmitting the administrative documents necessary for the homologation of the Moroccan international’s contract. Six months later, the club’s project to sell the Moroccan attacking midfielder to Al-Nassr failed due to a financial disagreement. Subsequently, he no longer had playing time or received a number within the London club. The current Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino had not called him up for the pre-season tour in the United States. This summer, the 30-year-old player joined Galatasaray on a one-year loan with an obligation to make it permanent, which will put an end to his misadventure at Chelsea.
In an interview with Voetbal International, the one who has regained his smile in Turkey talked about this sad episode of his football career. "Chelsea? Pff... we can talk about it for a long time. Things didn’t go as we hoped. It was a period full of coaching changes, upheaval also in the club’s management, a departure to PSG that didn’t happen..." he says, before criticizing Todd Boehly’s policy. "We had three teams with high-level players there. At some point, we lose patience... A selection with forty players for one team is simply too much and poses a problem," said the former Ajax Amsterdam star, who has bounced back in Turkey.
