Ziyech Joins Elite Company with Historic Champions League Free-Kick Brace

Hakim Ziyech has just made history in the Champions League. The Moroccan international scored two free-kick goals in Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Manchester United, a performance that places him alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr.
Ronaldo had scored twice in the Champions League for the first time in 2009 against FC Zurich, while Neymar had repeated the feat in 2018 against Red Star Belgrade.
During this match, where he was also the assist provider for the Turkish club’s 3rd goal, Ziyech was named Man of the Match by UEFA. His second goal of the evening was not only spectacular, but also historic, as it was Galatasaray’s 100th goal of 2023.
The Moroccan international is already looking ahead to the next challenge, the crucial match against FC Copenhagen for qualification to the Champions League round of 16. "It will be one of the season’s matches... We have it in our hands and if we do what we have to do, we will qualify for the round of 16," Ziyech said after the match against the English club.
