Zellige, Tifinagh... the Morocco jerseys are full of symbols!

The new jerseys of the Atlas Lions in preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) Morocco 2025 were unveiled on Monday at Rabat-Salé airport. They are the result of a collaboration between Puma, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Royal Air Maroc and Planet Sport.
Designed by Puma and designer Abderrahmane Trabsini, the new jerseys of the Moroccan national team highlight the richness of Moroccan cultural heritage. The home kit features geometric patterns and Moroccan zellige tiles, with the five-pointed star of the Moroccan flag in the center. On the away kit, we see embroidery and symbols inspired by Amazigh craftsmanship, as well as patterns inspired by Moroccan cultural heritage, and a red and green palette, referring to the colors of the national flag. As for the Tifinagh on the back of the jersey, it is a tribute to the rich history and cultural diversity of the kingdom.
As part of the promotion of the new jerseys of the Atlas Lions, Royal Air Maroc, in partnership with Planet Sport, has initiated several actions. For two days, all on-board (flight attendants and stewards) and ground staff at airports in Morocco (Casablanca, Marrakech, Dakhla, Laâyoune and Oujda) and abroad (Abidjan, Paris-Orly, Frankfurt, London, Milan, New York, Barcelona and Dakar) of the Moroccan airline will wear these new jerseys. "On the initiative of Planet Sport, Royal Air Maroc will also offer its passengers the opportunity to acquire these jerseys in a world exclusive on board its flights, as part of its on-board sales program, at an attractive price," announced Yassine Mejbar, Marketing Director of Planet Sport, during the jersey presentation ceremony.
"This initiative underlines the joint commitment of Royal Air Maroc, Puma, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and Planet Sport in promoting Morocco’s sporting and cultural heritage," he added. "We are delighted to have had the opportunity to create home and away jerseys that embody the spirit of Morocco. [...] The launch of these jerseys comes at the perfect time to generate excitement in the run-up to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, allowing fans and athletes to wear these outfits with pride - outfits that tell the story of the nation," said Peter Dangl, director at Puma EEMEA Distribution.
These jerseys are "made with comfortable, high-performance fabrics and innovative technologies to meet the requirements of players and technical staff," said Adil Barii, Marketing Director of the FRMF, hoping that they "will inspire a sense of pride and belonging in all Moroccans, whether in the country or abroad, because after all, they were designed to celebrate Moroccan football." Sanaa Tazi, Marketing Director of Royal Air Maroc, for her part reiterated "our willingness to promote the image of Morocco internationally alongside our national team, whose historic feat in 2022 inspired pride and admiration," assuring that the company will spare no effort to "successfully organize the hosting by Morocco of
