Young Man Dies After Meal at Agadir Snack Bar, Prompting Investigation

A young man from Sidi Ifni lost his life on Thursday evening in a private clinic in Agadir, possibly a victim of food poisoning. The tragedy would have occurred after eating a meal in a snack bar in the Salam district.
Faced with this tragedy, the public prosecutor’s office reacted immediately. An investigation has been opened by the security services and an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact causes of death.
The case has caused a strong emotion in Agadir, all the more so as it coincides with the visit of the Minister of Health, Amine Tahraoui. While some local sources claim that the young man was part of a group of people poisoned in the incriminated snack bar, others mention the possibility that he was already suffering from irritable bowel syndrome.
For now, the health services and local authorities are working to shed light on this case. The investigators have already begun to hear the people involved. A special commission went to the scene of the tragedy on Thursday. Composed of representatives from the health, security and local authorities sectors, it carried out sampling and inspected the premises to verify compliance with hygiene standards.
Thirteen people are said to have filed a complaint after being victims of food poisoning in this same establishment. They were all taken care of in private clinics.
